Etsy fees explained for UK sellers (2026)
Etsy’s fees are spread across several lines on your statement, which is why so many sellers underestimate them. Here’s each one for a UK shop.
| Fee | Amount | When |
|---|---|---|
| Listing | US$0.20 (≈15p) | Each listing published, renewed, or renewed when it sells |
| Transaction | 6.5% | Of the item price, delivery and gift wrap |
| Payment processing | 4% + 20p | Each order (UK shops) |
| Regulatory operating | 0.48% | Each order (UK shops, since 22 June 2026) |
| Offsite ads | 15% (12% over US$10k/yr), max US$100 | Only orders that came through Etsy’s ads elsewhere |
| VAT on fees | 20% | On all fees above, unless your VAT number is on Etsy |
A worked example
A £24.99 print with free delivery, sold by a UK shop without a VAT number: transaction about £1.62, processing about £1.20, regulatory about 12p, listing about 15p – roughly £3.09 – plus about 62p VAT, so around £3.70 in total. If an offsite ad made the sale, add about £3.75 plus 75p VAT. Try your own numbers in the fee calculator.

Frequently asked questions
Why are my Etsy fees higher than 6.5%?
The 6.5% transaction fee is only one part. Payment processing (4% + 20p), the regulatory fee (0.48%), the listing renewal and – unless you’re VAT-registered with Etsy – 20% VAT on all of them push the total to around 14–15% of a typical £20–£50 order.
When did the UK regulatory fee change?
Etsy raised the UK regulatory operating fee from 0.32% to 0.48% on 22 June 2026.
